Meet Big Heart Trivia!
What Is Big Heart Trivia? (back)
A game for those
with a big heart!
Big Heart Trivia lets you win cash prizes while helping fundraise for your
favorite non-profit.
We put the fun in fundraising. : )
How Does Big Heart Trivia Work? (back)
We've created the
first trivia game in the world where anyone has
a chance to win.
Just earn points by playing short, daily trivia games – custom made for your
particular skill level.
The players with the day's highest scores win
the Daily Prize.
Can Anyone Really Win Money In
Big Heart Trivia? (back)
Yes!
99% of people that play old-fashioned trivia games don't win. Meaning,
they're not much fun for 99% of us.
But Big Heart is different. Because we are not just a trivia game... but
a trivia fundraising game.
Which means we want to make it fun for the other 99%, too... because more fun
means more players winning and more funds getting raised for your
non-profit... which is the whole point of a fundraising trivia game,
right? : )
As such, Big Heart uses advanced technology to create a fair,
highly-competitive, game-of-skill contest for all... where anyone
can use their skill and have a bona fide opportunity to win.
We think it's a totally different and innovative approach... certainly the most
exciting and competitive trivia format we've seen.
(Learn more by tapping "Game Rules & Policies" in the Big
Heart Trivia 3-Bar menu.)
About The Games – Easy Trivia, Speed Trivia, And Photo
Trivia (back)
Earn points from
three different daily trivia games:
- Easy
Trivia
- Speed
Trivia – Bonus
- Photo
Trivia – Bonus
Easy Trivia
You get three free Easy Trivia games per daily contest.
You'll be presented fun trivia questions from over 600 different
categories, all targeted to your skill level.
If you answer a question correctly before the countdown clock expires, you get
10,000 points and a shot at another question, up to 10 questions in total.
If you get the question wrong, the game is over... unless there's an optional
bonus question from the non-profit you're playing for.
Speed Trivia – Bonus
After playing a free Easy Trivia game, you then can play a free Speed Trivia
game.
Unlike Easy Trivia, the faster you answer a Speed Trivia bonus question, the
more points you get. (Hence, the "speed" in Speed Trivia. : )
Points start at 50,000 and wind down with the countdown clock to zero in one point increments.
But, be careful about answering too quickly: If you get the question
wrong, you get zero points. Yikes!
Btw, you may hear slightly different, maybe more irreverent game sounds
in Speed Trivia. Since you're on-the-clock, it's just a way to maybe distract
you a bit... all part of fun game play. ; )
Photo Trivia – Bonus
After playing a free Easy Trivia game, you then can also play a free Photo
Trivia game.
With your permission, we’ll access your local
photo gallery to create a personalized photo trivia game just for you. (It’s
private, no one else can view this.)
WE VALUE YOUR PRIVACY: Your photos are ABSOLUTELY NOT uploaded, downloaded,
indexed, or saved in any way.
Photo Trivia will
ask you questions about five of your favorite photos. You'll get 2,000 points
for each correct answer. You'll also get 1,234 points if you share a Photo
Trivia question with a friend.

When Does The Daily Contest
Start And End? (back)
Daily Contest
starts at 9pm Pacific / Midnight Eastern Time.
Daily Contest ends at 8pm Pacific / 11pm Eastern the following day.
The contest is paused between 8pm and 9pm Pacific / 11pm and Midnight Eastern
Time to celebrate the winner – and don't forget to watch the winner get crowned
because we try to have some fun with it – and to prepare data to validate the
day's game play.
Note: Any game initiated before you see this "Game Paused" message on
the Home Screen is in play.
How Do Streaks Work? (back)
Simple. Play one
(1) free Easy Trivia game and receive 1,001 extra points for that day.
Do that two days in a row and get 2,002 extra points.
Do that three days in a row and get 3,003 extra points... all the way up to 30
days in a row and beyond where you'll receive 30,030 extra points a day.
Don't miss a day, though, because you'll lose the streak and have
to start streaking all over again. (And, sorry in advance, we can't
accept, "my dog ate my mobile phone" or other such creative excuses!)
How Is The Daily Prize
Calculated? (back)
The Daily Prize may
change from day to day but is always set & locked before the day's
contest begins.
How Are Winners & Winnings
Calculated? (back)
The Daily Prize may
change from day to day but is always set & locked before the day's
contest begins.
The
top 10 high scores share, in declining proportions, the daily prize, though
there may be situations (for example, with limited players) where only the top
score may be awarded the daily prize.
1st Place:
20%
2nd Place: 16%
3rd Place: 12%
4th Place: 11%
5th Place: 10%
6th Place: 9%
7th Place: 8%
8th Place: 7%
9th Place: 5%
10th Place: 2%
All prizes are rounded to nearest dollar.
Ties
If there are ties, then the player that first completes the tied score during
the daily play wins the tie breaker. (This player will have an asterisk after
their name on the Leaderboard.)
How Is The Daily Prize Pool
Funded? (back)
To keep the contest
free for all, the Daily Prize Pool is funded via market intelligence. From time to time, your non-profit's sponsors will ask you one question on a
subject you value.
These questions are
optional, if you ever feel
uncomfortable with a question, you'll always have the choice to choose "Prefer
not to say."
Your responses are anonymous and will only be
used for research purposes. Your non-profit greatly appreciates your
participation, proceeds from this market intelligence help fund the good work
they do.
For more details on our Privacy Policy and Terms
of Use, please click here.
What Is A Boop Or Winky? (back)
The jokes
practically write themselves, eh? ;)
Boops or Winkies are fun ways to communicate with
other players.
Receiving a Boop or Winky is easy, they automatically show up at the bottom of
your Home Screen. Boops and Winky messages only last
a day. You can enjoy them today and they'll be gone tomorrow (so no crowded
inboxes!).
Sending a Boop or Winky is easy, too. Just tap on the Boops or Winky icon next to a player's name on either the
Top 10 or Friends Leaderboard, then tap on the emojis or phrases you want to
send. If you make a mistake, simply tap on the message box to erase last entry.
Tap "Send!" to deliver some joy to someone.
If you don't see a player's name on either the Top 10 or Friends Leaderboard,
tap the Friends Leaderboard and the add friend
"+" icon (above your list of friends) and enter a nickname. (We use
nicknames to protect players' privacy.)
Note: If you want to receive Boops or Winkies only
from friends, go to Profile (in the Big Menu) and set "Only allow Boops or Winkies from friends" slider ON.
Simplified And Expanded Home Screens (back)
We tried to keep
the first Home Screen you see as simple as possible...
with a big Easy Trivia game icon smack in the middle so it's easy to know what
to tap to play a game.
But, as you begin to play competitively, it's helpful to have more information
directly on the Home Screen. If you look on the lower
right of the Home Screen you will see an "expand/collapse" arrowhead.
Tapping that will toggle between expanded and simplified Home Screen views.
Is Big Heart Trivia A
Non-Profit? (back)
Like Kickstarter,
Big Heart Trivia is a Public Benefits Corporation (PBC).
That means we are an organization with a mission to help the greater good. In
our case, to help the non-profit you are playing for fundraise during these challenging times. To do this, we are
designated as a for-profit company so we have access
to capital markets and necessary technical talent. (Unfortunately
non-profit organizations have challenges with both.) For more details about how
Big Heart Trivia operates, please refer to our Terms And
Conditions.
Our Mission – And We're Very Protective Of It (back)
Our mission is to create a fun game that encourages
people to help worthy causes who haven't made contribution
a steady part of their lives yet. To do this, we need to create a fair and competitive game-of-skill
contest that gives as many people the opportunity to play and win as possible.
Please know, if we track any kind of behavior that detracts from this mission,
we reserve the right to review and overturn any result and to deny
participation to any player at any time. Please do not
play our contest if you do not agree with this. We thank you for
understanding that the real goal here is for your non-profit to be the big
winner.

Trivia Categories (back)
To keep things
interesting, Big Heart has a lot of trivia questions. So many it's
necessary to break them into categories... and within each category,
dozens of subcategories.
Here are the major subject matter categories:
- Art
& Books
- Business,
People, Places, & Things
- Entertainment
- Food,
Drink, & Lifestyle
- General
Knowledge
- Grab
Bag
- History
- Movies
& TV
- Music
- Science
& Nature
- Sports
Why Am I Asked To Name My
Favorite Categories? And Can I Change Them? (back)
We ask for your
favorite trivia categories to make the contest more fun, since we know everyone
is partial to certain categories in trivia!
And, yes, you can change your favorite categories by tapping
"Profile" in the 3-Bar menu (a.k.a. the "Big Menu") located
in the upper right corner of the Home Screen.
Why Do I Get Questions From
Categories Other Than My Favorites? (back)
We serve questions
from a variety of categories, which we think makes for a more interesting
trivia game.
But, we do try to start you off with questions from
your favorite categories.
After that, you may still get questions from your favorites, but we'll start
mixing in questions from other categories, too.
Why Am I Asked To Rate My Trivia
Abilities? (back)
Because we want to
make the contest fun and competitive for ALL players... because
more fun equals more fundraising for your non-profit. : )
Do The Questions Get Tougher? Does The Game Speed
Up? (back)
To maximize enjoyment
for all — and to preserve competitive fairness and protect players from fraudulent
behavior — the game strives to create a level-playing field such that it's your
actual trivia skill that determines how well you do. You may find the
game adjusts, but please know these do not
modify the scoring rules, point values, leaderboard ranking logic, prize
allocations, or tiebreaker rules, and importantly are applied using uniform
thresholds and not manually targeted at individual participants.
[Keywords: Time, Clock, Difficult, Difficulty, Easy, Easier, Hard, Harder]
Friends & Leaderboards (back)
Check out how
you're doing in the game by visiting the Leaderboard. (Either tap the 1-2-3
Leaderboard icon, the Leaderboard grid item, or choose Leaderboard under the
Big Menu.)
There are two kinds of Leaderboards:
Top 10: Players in the running for either a cash or Heart prize are
ranked on the Top 10 Leaderboard. If you are outside this Top 10, you'll see
how your score compares to the top players... and just how close you are to
breaking into the Top 10!
Friends: A quick way to see the scores of just your friends and the
players you want to follow.
Designate someone a Friend by either tapping the add friend "+" icon
next to their name on the Top 10 Leaderboard, or from the Friends Leaderboard,
tap the "+" icon (above your list of friends) and enter nickname. (We
use nicknames to protect players' privacy.)
Where Do I Find My Playing History? (back)
In the upper right corner of the Home Screen, tap the 3-Bar menu (a.k.a.
the "Big Menu") and tap "Game Info." You'll see a complete
breakdown of your last week of playing.
Photos And Music
How Does Photo Trivia Work? (back)
Dare we say
everyone loves to see their own photos?
We've done something special and, with your permission, have turned your photo
library into trivia questions – to be viewed ONLY by you and no
one else.
WE VALUE YOUR PRIVACY: Your photos are ABSOLUTELY NOT uploaded, downloaded,
indexed, or saved in any way.
You can earn one (1) Photo Trivia bonus game per day with five (5) of your
favorite photos in each game. You'll get 2,000 points for each correct answer.
And Photo Library Organization, Too (Favorite And Delete) (back)
Whoever makes the
time to organize their photo library? No one!
That's why we included photo organization features in Photo Trivia.
If you see a photo you want to save to your Favorites, just tap the Heart
icon.
If you see a photo that needs to be deleted, just tap the Trash Can
icon. (We'll ask you to confirm your deletions at the end of the game so you don't delete accidentally.)
Why Do I Need At Least 500 Photos To
Play? (back)
Part of the
surprise and fun of Photo Trivia is seeing pics you haven't seen in a while. So from an enjoyment perspective,
it's important that the game has a lot of photos to choose from.
Music Discovery (back)
Big Heart is unlike any trivia game you've ever played... and music is a
big part of that.
Sure, there are traditional trivia countdown clock sounds.
And there are some non-traditional countdown sounds, too.
But we thought, why not do a little music discovery
while we're at it? Have the music of up & coming artists playing while
you're trying to concentrate on trivia? Or, even as background tracks while
you're anywhere in Big Heart?
So that's what we did!
If you like what you hear, you can always tap the Musical Note icon and get
more info about the song, artist, links, etc.
(Coming Soon: If you know indie artists looking for exposure, please tell
them about Big Heart Trivia. We'd be happy to put them in a 30-day rotation. To
get in the queue, have them drop us a line at Music@BigHeartTrivia.org.)
Speed Trivia
How Does Speed Trivia Work? (back)
After playing a free Easy Trivia game, play free Speed Trivia.
Since you're on-the-clock, it's just a way to maybe distract
you a bit... all part of fun game play. ; )
Player Support Items & Troubleshooting
General Support Tips (back)
Electronic devices
get out-of-whack all the time. They shouldn't... but they do.
If you're experiencing weirdness, it's always good to progress through the
following as appropriate:
- Close
and relaunch the app.
- Power
down your device and reboot.
- Delete
the Big Heart app and reinstall (note, all your data is stored in the
cloud so nothing will be lost).
iPhone Requires iOS 13 Or Higher (back)
Big Heart Trivia
requires iOS 13 or higher for iPhone. (Browser/Desktop version coming soon.)
Android Requires Android 13, Level 33, Or
Higher (back)
Big Heart Trivia
requires Android 13, Level 33, for Android devices. (Browser/Desktop version
coming soon.)
Where Do I Get An Invitation
Code? (back)
You need an
Invitation Code from your non-profit to play Big Heart Trivia. Your non-profit
would have included the Invitation Code in an email, social media posting, or
other communication. Please refer to those or contact Support@BigHeartTrivia.org.
[Keywords: Invite, Authorization, Auth, Password]
Where Do I Enter An Invitation
Code? (back)
Tap the Big Menu
(i.e., the three-bar menu) in the upper right corner of the Home Screen, then
tap the "Other" item. Tap "Add Another Non-Profit" and
enter the Invitation Code you received.
[Keywords: Charity, Charitable, Organization, 501(c)(3), 501c3, 527]
My Invite Code Doesn't Work (back)
If you see the,
"Unable to find non-profit" error message... and you are sure you're
entering the Invite Code correctly... two things could be happening:
(1) There may be an administrator issue with your Wi-Fi. Turn off Wi-Fi and try
entering Invitation Code using just your cellular network.
(2) We may have temporarily paused new sign-ups. If this is the case, please
check back in 24 hours and thank you for your patience.
[Keywords: Wifi, Connectivity, Connect, Network]
The Game Freezes, Crashes, or Exits
Unexpectedly (back)
The vast majority
of time it's from spotty Internet or Wi-Fi service.
Normally cell coverage kicks in when Wi-Fi isn't working... but given apps with
timers – like most games – Wi-Fi won't turn things over to cell fast enough not
to lose your game.
We do try, however, to give you a heads up on connectivity issues. When the
game is having problems connecting, you'll see a "Connectivity
issues. Trying to reconnect... " message at the bottom of the screen.
If connectivity becomes a genuine problem AND you have good cell coverage, turn
OFF Wi-Fi and play Big Heart over cellular.
If you don't have good Wi-Fi or cell coverage, please don't play a
timer-based cloud game until you get into better coverage!
Note if your game is interrupted for any reason (for example, spotty Wi-Fi or
cell coverage), unfortunately that's considered a completed game.
If we didn't do this, it would open the game up for abuse... for example,
getting a question wrong and forcing an exit in order to
retake the game.
[Keywords: Wifi, Connectivity, Connect, Network]
Why Are My Game Icons Grayed? (back)
A grayed game icon
means you've completed all of your games for that particular type of trivia.
Note that if you game is interrupted for any reason
(for example, spotty Wi-Fi or cell coverage), unfortunately that's considered a
completed game. So if it was your last play for that
type of trivia game, your game icon will be grayed (unaccessible).
If we didn't do this, it would open the game up for abuse... for example,
getting a question wrong and forcing an exit in order to
retake the game.
How Do I Check My Winnings? (back)
Tap the Big Menu
(the three-bar menu in the upper right of the Home Screen).
Tap "Profile".
Tap "Winnings".
How Do I Collect Winnings? (back)
Tap the Big Menu (the three-bar menu in the upper right of the Home Screen)...
then tap "Profile"... then tap "Winnings"... then tap
"Collect Winnings" to begin the payment process.
If your winnings are over $2,000 in a calendar year, we will send you a Form
1099-K for the date you are paid for tax preparation purposes.
For the security of the contest, we also reserved the right to validate name,
address, and tax I.D. or Social Security number.
Note, you must have a bank account in order to collect winnings.
This is the only payment mechanism we support. We apologize but getting in
contact with us and explaining all kinds of good reasons why you don't have a
bank account won't change this. Know that we do this to keep costs down, which
means more help for your non-profit.
If
you win and don’t have a bank account, you can open a bank account or donate
the winnings to your non-profit (which they will of
course appreciate). If you do not feel
comfortable with these alternatives – which is certainly your prerogative –
please do not play our fundraising game.
Note that we may offer additional payout methods in the future as
compliance and cost structures allow.
Collected winnings are paid in 30 days.
It's no secret that credit card theft is on the rise. So
for security purposes, collected winnings are paid in 30 days. You as a
consumer are protected by your credit card company, but we the non-profit may not
be in "card-not-present" situations. We greatly appreciate you
understanding why we have to be super cautious here,
so bad actors don't bite into the very money you are helping to fundraise.
Note we will try to shorten this review period if possible
in the future. Until then, thank you for your understanding and patience!
Payments are processed during normal business hours, so if you try to collect
outside of these hours, your 30-day clock will begin the next day. Also, if the
30th day is on a weekend or holiday, your payment will be processed the next
business day.
IMPORTANT: Winnings are not paid automatically. That's because, for
security purposes, we need to validate you, collect banking information (i.e.,
where to send your winnings), and such.
ALSO IMPORTANT: You must collect winnings in a timely manner. Please see
Game Rules for details.
DONATE:
You also have the option to donate your winnings to your non-profit. (They will
appreciate this very much. :) After you have donated, you can find a PDF on the
Big Menu > Winnings screen with deduction information to use to report your
charitable contribution if this applies to you.
[Keywords: Collect, Collection, Pay, Payment, Processing,
Win, Winnings, Taxes]
My Winnings Just Disappeared (back)
We
try to contact you via your registered email, but it is possible you waited too
long to collect your winnings. Please see Game Rules for details.
Are Donations Tax Deductible? (back)
If you win and
decide to donate your winnings back to your non-profit, this may be tax
deductible. In this situation, again please consult with a tax professional
and, if appropriate, find relevant tax documentation under "Winnings"
in the Big Menu.
[Keywords: Taxes]
Is It Possible To Win Too Many
Times? (back)
We're not sure yet
but we suspect we'll figure this out as we go along.
Here's why we're addressing this, though: If you've been reading these FAQ's,
you know our intent is to create a fair and competitive trivia contest.
The more competitive it is, the more funds get raised. So
we apologize in advance if you win so many times that we deny you access to the
contest for a period of time, or even altogether. And
while we'd like to see everyone win a lot, we thank you for understanding that
our real mission is for your non-profit to be the big winner.
What Happens In The Case Of A
Tie? (back)
The players with
the highest trivia totals for the day win and split the Daily Prize.
You can rack up trivia points across three different trivia games: (1) Easy
Trivia, (2) Speed Trivia, and (3) Photo Trivia.
Given you can play a maximum of five free trivia games a day (up to three free
Easy Trivia games, and one free game each for Speed and Photo Trivia), we don't
expect many ties.
However, if there are ties, then the player that first completes the tied score
during the daily play wins the tie breaker. (This player will have an asterisk
after their name on the Leaderboard.)
What Happens If A Daily Contest
Is Paused Or Even Cancelled? (back)
There are reasons
why a daily contest could be paused or even cancelled (please see Terms &
Conditions), and we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to make such a
determination. We also apologize if this happens and appreciate your patience.
I Played But Didn't Get Any
Points And/Or Available Games Went Down By One (back)
If you leave or
pause the game, receive a phone call, or lose internet signal at any time, by
any means at all, this could mean your game will not complete correctly and
therefore you will not be awarded points. Some of these situations are beyond
our control, while others are to guard against foul play (including googling
questions, which is against our rules). If you
experience game interruption issues outside of these elements, please try
restarting your phone.
I Got A Question Right But Then It Said It Was Incorrect (back)
Sometimes you run
out of time just before you answer. If you don't see streamers and
confetti and hear one of the correct sounds, then you actually
ran out of time and what you're seeing is Big Heart simply highlighting
the correct answer for your reference.
Finding Something Wrong With A Trivia Question (The "Improve Q"
Icon) (back)
In any game with
over 200,000 questions, you will inevitably find things wrong with trivia
questions and answers, whether it's accuracy or just punctuation. As such, we
won't change scores retroactively, these missteps are just considered part of
normal gameplay.
If you do find such a mistake and wish to report the question, simply tap the
white "Improve Q" icon (for "Improve Question") that
appears momentarily after an Easy Trivia question has been answered. You'll be
presented with a popup screen that lets you quickly indicate the issue. Thank
you in advance for your help!

Why Doesn't Photo Trivia Work For
Me? (back)
You must have at
least 500 photos in your library AND give us permission to access them.
To determine how many photos you have, go to Settings>General>About...
and scroll down until you see "Photos."
If you have at least 500 photos and are still having problems, chances are you
either didn't give us access to any photos...
... OR you choose "Select Photos" instead of "Allow Access to
All Photos." (Choosing "Select Photos" means you would have had
to physically check at least 500 photos and that's not an easy thing to do. To
rectify, open your Apple Settings and find the Big Heart Trivia app. Tap
"Big Heart Trivia," then tap "Photos." Select "All
Photos." When you return to the Big Heart Triva app, you can now play
Photo Triva.)
Choosing Game Sounds Or Music
Discovery (back)
All sound controls
are located on the Music Discovery screen. (Home Screen –> Big Menu –>
Music Discovery.)
Since sounds are so important to Big Heart, we've added a shortcut... simply
tap the Musical Note icon (located at the top of the Home Screen).
Why Can't We Play Between 11pm And Midnight Eastern
Time? (back)
The contest is
paused between 8pm and 9pm Pacific / 11pm and Midnight Eastern Time to
celebrate the winner – and don't forget to watch the winner get crowned
because we try to have some fun with it – and to prepare data to validate
the day's contest play.
How Can I Make Sure I'm Reading The
Latest FAQ? (back)
We hope the FAQ is
a wealth of Big Heart information for you.
To make sure your FAQ is up-to-date, please clear your cache – this will free
up storage space and potentially speed up your device, too.
BUT, please know this also will get rid of you browsing history and open Safari
windows, so for many that may be an undesirable thing to do.
Another approach is simply delete the Big Heart Trivia app, return to the App
Store, and download a new version. You won't lose any information as it's all
saved in the cloud. But it will force an update to the latest FAQ.
How To Report An Issue Or Bug (back)
If nothing in this
FAQ applies and you would like us to investigate something further, please fill
out a Support Ticket. You'll find it on the Support screen. (Home Screen –>
Big Menu –> Support –> Email a Question to Support.)
How To Delete Big Heart Trivia? (back)
Deletion & Data Retention:
If you want to delete a non-profit account in Big Heart Trivia, you may
do so from the "Other" item in the Big Menu (simply swipe the account
to the left and confirm the removal request).
WARNING: You will be given a
clear choice to either collect or donate any remaining balance before account
deletion is finalized. Please know that deleting your account is a final and
irreversible action, that you are voluntarily donating any uncollected winnings
from that non-profit account to the non-profit's future daily prize pool. So
please be very careful deleting a non-profit account because
donation-through-deletion is irreversible.
Data Retention Compliance: Please be aware that we are legally
obliged to retain certain information even after account deletion:
Essential Processing: To maintain the integrity of our
skill-based scoring and anti-fraud systems, we utilize Automated
Decision-Making Technology (ADMT). This processing is
essential to the delivery of the competitive service you have requested;
therefore, per CCPA/CPRA guidelines, opting out of
such processing is incompatible with active gameplay.
Legal Mandates: We retain specific data (such as prize history
and identity verification) for security, audit, and IRS purposes, to protect
against malicious or illegal actions, and to comply with legal obligations.

Ok. I'm an expert player. Not an expert trivia player, but an expert Big
Heart Trivia player. Here's what I can share with you:
· Streaks are sneakily hugely important. Play
one free Easy Trivia a day and you get 1,001 points. Do that two days in a row
and you get 2,002. Three days and 3,003. All the way up to 30,030 points for
playing 30 days and beyond. Those points are every winner's secret weapon. So
NEVER MISS A PLAYING DAY.
· Remember that one of the tie breakers is the
first to log a score. So playing early in the contest day could give you an advantage.
· Finally, there is a small bonus
but when contest is tight, it could be a difference maker: You get 1,234 bonus
points for creating a Photo Trivia question and sharing it with a friend. It's
the little heart icon with the arrow pointing up (the "Share Heart"
icon) that's visible right before you move to your next Photo Trivia question.
You not only get bonus points but you make someone's
day, too. : ) (One photo share bonus per day.)

What Are All The Game
Bonuses? (back)
Besides playing
more Easy Trivia games, there are four additional ways to earn bonus points:
(1) Streak Bonus. Play one free Easy Trivia game during a contest and get 1,001
bonus points. Play a second day in a row and get 2,002 bonus points. Keep
playing every day and you'll earn an ever increasing amount of points... up to 30 days in a row and 30,030 bonus
points... and 30,030 for each day thereafter.
(2) Speed Trivia. Up to 50,000 points for donating a Heart and earning a Speed
Trivia question.
(3) Photo Trivia. 2,000 points for each correct answer from a series of five
photo questions.
(4) Photo Share Bonus. 1,234 points for sharing a Photo Trivia question with a
friend. (One Photo Share bonus per contest.)
Is There A Reward For Inviting A
Friend? (back)
The more people you
invite to play, the more you help your non-profit... which is the biggest
reward, right? : )
We'd like to also reward you for doing this as well. However, we're
still working out the details, so please check back on this soon.
Since I Can Win Money, Is This
Gambling? (back)
No! Big Heart
Trivia is not gambling. It is a game-of-skill. A game-of-skill —
like trivia — is one where the outcome is determined mainly by mental or
physical skill of the actual participant. That is the exact opposite of
the definition of a gambling game, which is a "game of chance," i.e.,
takes no skill to win.
In addition, we do not violate other gambling criteria:
• The contest is free. No purchase or entry fee is ever required to participate or win.
• We announce the Daily Prize before the start of play. The amount of
daily activity has no bearing on the Daily Prize. Rather, the Daily Prize is
paid out of general assets.
• There is no risk to players that they will "lose" the Daily
Prize to Big Heart Trivia as we in no way participate in the daily play.
• Since the game is free to play, there is absolutely no risk of
"uncontrollable losses."
• We are a PBC — Public Benefits Corporation — and
our public benefit is to help non-profits fundraise... which means we are
operationally obligated to perform this public benefit.
• Through our charter, we only partner with verified non-profits.
All of this creates a bright legal line completely separating a
game-of-skill like Big Heart Trivia and games-of-chance like roulette or lotto
or such.
Why Do You Have To Verify My
Identity If I Win? (back)
If your winnings
are over $2,000 for a calendar year, we will send you a Form 1099-K for the
date you are paid for tax preparation purposes. This is an IRS requirement.
For the security of the contest, we also reserve the right to validate name,
address, and tax I.D. or Social Security number. If this is a concern for you,
please do not play our contest.

One Account Per Device (back)
We do realize that
some people share a device. However, there are a few good reasons why we have a
"one account per device" limit, including respecting the photo
privacy of the main device owner. i.e., if the main
device owner is playing Photo Trivia, that means allowing another player to
sign in on that device will display potentially private photos in their game of
Photo Trivia, too.
As mentioned, there are other good reasons we have a "one account per
device" limit. So no device sharing!
Only In The U.S... For Now (back)
Big Heart Trivia
can only be played in the U.S... and only in states that allow skill-based cash
competitions.
We will be expanding internationally, so please stay tuned!
Which States Cannot Play Big Heart
Trivia? (back)
In the U.S., states ultimately determine whether they'll allow their
citizens to play skilled-based cash competitions.
As of today, the following states will not let their citizens play skill-based
cash competitions:
- Arizona
- Florida
- Montana
- Rhode
Island
- Washington
Notes:
- We
use technology, including GPS, to locate your mobile device. Device
location setting must be enabled as a condition for play.
- Mobile
computing has brought dramatic changes to society. This is especially true
in the gaming world and we expect legislation and
regulation will continue to evolve as technical innovation drives new
opportunities but also presents new potential risks.
Creating A Fair And Competitive
Contest While Safeguarding Against 'Sandbaggers' and Cheats (back)
We use advanced
technology to vigilantly safeguard against those that might want to
create unfair competitive advantages for themselves.
As a legal condition to play, you agree that we reserve the right to review and
overturn any result and to deny participation to any player we believe is not
acting in the best interests of Big Heart's charitable mission, one of the
cores of which is to create a fair and highly-competitive contest for all. Please
do not play our contest if you do not agree with this.
